Geothermal Heating & Cooling Systems

SVA provided the mechanical/electrical/plumbing (M/E/P) design services for the design of a three (3) story (basement, first and partial second floor) Clubhouse building, with approximately 20,000 gross square feet. The Clubhouse will serve a condominium community in Ocean Pines near Ocean City, Maryland.

The facilities at the basement level included an indoor swimming pool, cardio-fitness and weight room, men's and women's locker rooms and cinema screening room. The first floor included indoor and outdoor dining facilities, a commercial kitchen, bar, lobby and administrative offices. The second floor consisted of a meeting room and spaces for mechanical and electrical equipment. An outdoor pool was also included.

Mechanical systems included various HVAC systems using geothermal wells for heating and cooling via geothermal heat pump systems. Plumbing systems were connected to City water and sewer systems.

Electrical systems included interior and exterior lighting, convenience receptacles, kitchen equipment power, fire alarm, and audio/visual systems for the cinema and meeting room.
